Dezider Milly Gallery

The exhibition opened in 1983. It is housed in the 18th-century Baroque castellum. It shows the development of folk and professional visual art of Ruthenian (Ukrainian) people in Slovakia from the 16th century up to the present. A precious collection of holy icons – the earliest and the most precious exhibits in the collection of the Slovak National Museum – the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník is the highlight of the exhibition. The works by the outstanding artist Dezider Milly (1906–1971), a member of the Generation 1909 group and its founder known in the history of Slovak modern art, have the central place in the exhibition.
