Memorial of the Soviet Army
The Red Army Memorial was raised in the vicinity of the Svidník branch of the Museum of War. The memorial features a four-metre high bronze statue of a Soviet sergeant saluting the soldiers who fell in battle and symbolic graves of Soviet infantry soldiers, tank soldiers, artillerists, and pilots, as well as varied sculptures and reliefs. The war cemetery consisting of four common graves is also part of the monument. More than 9000 Soviet soldiers who fell during the Carpatho-Dukla Operation and the fights for northeastern Slovakia are buried in those graves.
